26. The new bridge over the Ticino

View from the south of the new bridge spanning the Ticino with its ten arches. Completed in 1815 it was later altered and finally demolished in the 1960s. On the right bank it connected with a tower, a military construction which had been part of the old fortifications and which gave its name to the bridge.
